Gamma Nu Alumni Association (“we,” “our,” or “the Association”) operates the website gammanuassociation1949.org. Our organization serves to connect and support alumni of Gamma Nu, provide networking opportunities, and promote the ongoing mission of our alumni community.

Contact and Profile Information

We collect personal information when you register as a member, including your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, graduation year, and other relevant alumni information.

Payment Information

When you pay membership dues or make purchases through our storefront, we collect payment information. We use secure payment processors, and complete credit card information is not stored on our servers.

Text Message Communications

The Gamma Nu Alumni Association may send text messages to members who have provided their mobile phone numbers and opted in to receive communications. These messages may include:

  • Membership renewal notices

Message frequency varies, typically 2-4 messages per month. Message and data rates may apply. To stop receiving text messages, reply STOP to any message. For help, reply HELP.

We do not sell or share your mobile number with third parties for their marketing purposes without your explicit consent.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

We retain member information for as long as you maintain an active membership with the Association and for a reasonable period afterward to facilitate renewal. You may request deletion of your information at any time (see “Your Rights” below).

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
